Report: Turkey not considering alternatives to grain deal
ANKARA, Aug 17 (PRIME) -- Turkey aims at resuming the grain deal and is not working on alternative routes, local newspaper Star reported on Thursday citing National Defense Ministry sources.
"About 33 million tonnes of grain were sent to the countries in need over the year by virtue of an agreement on the grain corridor, which has proven to be successful and beneficial. Our efforts are aimed at resuming fulfillment of the grain corridor deal, and no other efforts besides that are made," the source said.
He added that several states are indeed negotiating details of alternative routes to the grain deal, but did not say which.
